Susanna Smith from Garden City says, “I havenβt done the research, but Iβll bet Garden City has more wineries, cideries, and breweries in Garden City per capita than anywhere else in the state!Β We also have a meadery, kava, and will soon have a distillery.β

Highlights of Idaho Wine and Cider Month
From June 1 to June 30, Idaho Wine and Cider Month celebrates our stateβs burgeoning wine and cider industry. Idaho is fast becoming a nationally recognized wine and cider region, thanks to our warm days, cool nights, and rich soil that produce high-quality grapes and apples. Here are some highlights to look forward to:
- Savor Idaho: The crown jewel of Idaho Wine and Cider Month, taking place on June 9 at the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise. All of the amazing Garden City wineries and cideries are participating, so you will find them there. Itβs an event you donβt want to miss! Check out Savor Idaho for food trucks, a Sip n’ Paint class, local exhibitors, and Garden City favorites.
- Savings and Promotions: Throughout June, enjoy onsite tastings, patio gatherings, festivals, wine club events, tours, special offers, discounts, and more. Be sure to check with event organizers for details!

- 2024 marks the 15th year of Idaho Wine and Cider Month.
- Idaho’s winemaking tradition dates back to 1865.
- The Eagle Foothills AVA has the only Idaho winery devoted exclusively to sparkling wine.
- Molly Leadbetter of Meriwether Cider is Idahoβs first and only Certified Pommelier, one of only 97 worldwide.
- Cider apple trees are being re-established in Idaho, with cideries growing from one to eight in the last five years.
