His art is found in major collections, including the permanent collection of the Museum of Arts and Design. His public art commissions include an MTA Arts for Transit public art installation at the Philipse Manor Station, and he has attended fifteen residencies, including the Open Studio Program at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City. His teaching credentials include over 100 workshops in the US, Israel, South America, and Europe, including Corning Glass, Penland, and Pilchuck Glass School.

What To Expect

In this visiting artist workshop, we will be using premixed enamels to paint, airbrush, pen, and silk-screen designs and images onto stained glass, then kiln fire the pieces. No need to be an expert painter; we will be tracing images in class. You will learn and practice these techniques to make a 6×6-inch panel. On the final day, we will copper foil and solder the glass pieces together to make a finished stained-glass panel. Joseph will provide silk-screens for students to use and advice on framing, lighting, art marketing, and residency tips. Techniques learned in all of these workshops can be used in stained glass panels as well as mosaics.
